"Through strong leadership Young Guns Fly (YGF) exposes youth to fly fishing, giving them opportunities to experience the outdoors, engage in physical activity, socialize, have fun, and lead fulfilling lives within their communities."

YGF believes that everyone should be given the opportunity to fly fish.  Our programs and events educate everyone in the sport of fly fishing and what it means to become a responsible fly fishermen/women.  It is YGF and our partners goal to give youth, in British Columbia and throughout Canada, the chance to fly fish.  

Our leadership team brings a wide range of valuable experience and skills to Young Guns Fly.  The team includes: 

At the age of eight I got my first fly rod for Christmas.  I still remember unwrapping that rod like it was yesterday.  I've been fishing across the world ever since that day and I love it.  If I could describe fly fishing in one word I would say FUN!!!!!  That is what I want to do with Young Guns Fly.  I want to link people who love fishing, and maybe make fly fishing a part of a few kids lives along the way.

I've fly fished since I was 14 and have always loved exploring new water. I always enjoy taking people with me and showing them new places and ways to catch fish with a fly.  It only makes sense to me to fish when 70% of the world is covered in water.

My name is Mike Berry I've been fishing for as long as I can remember. But It wasn't until I was about 12 when I was introduced to fly fishing by my brother when my passion for fishing exploded. Since then I have been exploring lakes, rivers and oceans pursuing that passion, it's something I hope to continue for as long as I can and share with others along the way.

The British Columbia Federation of Fly Fishers (BCFFF) is a registered, non-profit society whose main objective is to promote the conservation of the fishing environment in British Columbia. By networking with similarly minded clubs, organizations, businesses and individuals, the BCFFF provides a voice that reflects its member's and the public's concern for the future of B.C.'s natural resources.

The BCFFF is a sponsor of the YGF Youth Fly Fishing Mentorship Program.

From humble beginnings assembling rod kits on the island of Newfoundland to Canada’s largest designer of fly fishing rods, Pieroway Rod Company has always been committed to providing anglers with great equipment and dependable service.

Young Guns Fly is proud to partner with Pieroway Rods and receive sponsorship from this great Canadian rod company.  We both look forward to inspire youth across the country to pick up a fly rod and fish.
